Equestrian arts, in their essence, aim to demonstrate a precise and aesthetically pleasing harmony between a rider and their horse. Founded on key principles of the absence of force and constraint, these arts emphasize a harmonious interaction between the rider and the horse, respectful of its physiology and needs.
The official Tbourida competitions are organized annually by SOREC, in partnership with FRMSE, and are divided into several categories:
Regional Competitions: Numbering 24, the Regional Tbourida Competitions (CRT) constitute the first level of competition and are organized within the various administrative regions of Morocco.
Interregional Competitions: The three Interregional Tbourida Competitions (CIRT) feature the different Sorbas (teams) that qualified during the regional competitions and come from the various geographical zones of the Kingdom: North, Central, and South.
The Hassan II Tbourida Trophy: The Hassan II Tbourida Trophy is the National Tbourida Championship, in which the Sorbas that qualified from the Interregional Tbourida competitions participate. It is organized by FRMSE at the Dar Essalam complex in Rabat.
The Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Tbourida: The Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Tbourida features the national troupes that achieved the best rankings in each region at the Interregional Tbourida competitions. This Grand Prix is organized by the Horse Show Association (ASC) and takes place at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park as part of the El Jadida Horse Show.
A Tbourida show consists of two main parts:
The Hadda or Tahia: salute and weapons handling by the horsemen
Lâab lbaroud: gallop and execution of the game according to the Tariqa, which ends with a strong and synchronized shot
The competitions reward, in particular, perfect alignment, the quality of the start, the riders’ attire, the harnessing of the horses, the artistry in the execution of the rifle game, and the precision and simultaneity of the detonations.
