Equestrian Arts
Equestrian arts, in essence, aim to demonstrate aesthetic and precise harmony between a rider and their horse. Based on key principles of absence of force and constraints, these arts emphasize harmonious communication from the rider, respectful of the horse’s physiology and needs.
Development of modern equestrian arts
Equestrian arts cover a variety of disciplines, each reflecting a different facet of this relationship between humans and horses, based on mutual understanding, technique, and respect.
SOREC’s commitments:
- To develop and promote modern equestrian arts disciplines.
- To train young Moroccans to become equestrian artists.
- To promote the strong aptitude of Barbe and Arab-Barbe breeds for modern equestrian arts.
- To promote Moroccan tradition.
Equestrian Dressage: From High School to Vaulting
Classical equestrian dressage is a ballet of precision and elegance, where every movement is a celebration of harmony between rider and horse. The figures, performed with grace and rigor, captivate with their perfection and sophistication. Equestrian vaulting, a true spectacle of virtuosity, combines daring and finesse. The vaulters, in perfect synchronization with their moving horses, perform impressive figures that amaze with their fluidity and daring. This discipline transforms horse riding into a captivating visual art, where passion and inspiration are evident in every graceful movement.
Objectives
Developing and promoting modern equestrian disciplines:
– Classical Dressage: Elevating the art of equestrian dressage to unparalleled levels of precision and beauty, where each movement of the horse reflects a perfect symbiosis between animal and rider.
– Equestrian Vaulting: Develop vaulting as a spectacular discipline combining acrobatics and elegance, offering an impressive show that combines the flexibility of the riders with the grace of the horses.
– Free Work: Promote free work, revealing the pure and authentic connection between rider and horse, where the absence of constraints allows their natural harmony to be celebrated.
-Train young Moroccans to become equestrian artists.
-Promote the strong aptitude of the Barb and Arab-Barb breeds for modern equestrian arts.
-Promote the influence of Moroccan tradition and expertise in equestrian circus arts.
To nurture this passion, SOREC has implemented several key initiatives. In 2014, it founded the Academy of Modern Equestrian Arts in Marrakech, which offers cutting-edge training. In 2021, this academy added a section dedicated to traditional equestrian arts, such as Tbourida. SOREC has also invested in modern infrastructure and organizes national and international competitions to showcase talent and promote local horses, particularly the Arab-Barbe and Barbe breeds. By supporting research and offering educational programs, SOREC inspires young people and promotes Moroccan equestrian arts on the international stage. SOREC and the Andalusian Foundation for Equestrian Arts (FERAAE) have signed a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of equestrian arts.
